Angela Webster, (GDC Registration number: 3093), an experienced and respected hygienist, works with us every Wednesday and Thursday and offers our patients a valuable, complimentary Dental Hygiene service.
We are very lucky to have Carol Daubeney working as our ‘Clinical Manager’ – Carol has thirty year’s nursing experience and valuable experience from a range of private and NHS practices. She started her career with us when she was only sixteen and is hugely welcome back at Bicton Place! Carol is a very positive addition to the team, she helps support our clinical nursing staff as well as the practice with clinical standards and compliance, and is the first point of call for clinical queries or complaints.
On our nursing team we have experienced Dental Nurse Jessica Matthews. Jessica is also a qualified Oral Educator, working with us three to four days a week. Jess examines for the National Examining Board of Dental Nurses (NEBDN) observing Dental Nurses undertaking their practical (OSCE) exam.
Dental Nurse Celia Pinkstone is also a very experienced nurse who has worked locally for many years. Celia is a qualified Oral Educator and is fully qualified to take radiographs. Celia works with us three days a week as well as working a day a month with the government’s Early Years programme offering basic teaching of oral hygiene to young families.
Our third qualified Dental Nurse is Bethany Evans, another hugely valued member of the nursing team. Beth works fulltime at Bicton Place usually supporting Nikki or David.
We now have Apprentice Dental Nurse Lucy Miller with us. Lucy joined us in January 2020 and is currently studying for an Advanced Apprenticeship in Health (Dental Nursing), Level 3. She will be studying at Exeter College on Mondays and working with us on the other four days of the week, gaining experience in all areas of the practice but particularly with David Ward our principal dentist. We hope very much that Lucy will stay working with us once qualified, probably in 2021.
Our nurses are extremely valued and critical members of our team.
At reception you will usually find Jayne Moores who has been with us since 2005 and works extremely hard at answering patient queries and managing the very busy telephones and diaries among many other critical other tasks. Jayne is a font of knowledge and if there are ever any queries about appointments or our service, she is the first point of call.
Nicky Ward is our Administrative Manager. Nicky manages most of the financial and administrative responsibilities of our busy practice.
Unlike most practices, we are very fortunate to have an on-site laboratory. Working closely with our dentists, Bicton Dental Laboratory Services, owned separately and run by Senior Technician Paul Boeree, provides an efficient and skilled service producing quality crowns, bridges and dentures, as well as a same day denture repair service.
